Job Title: LPN/LVN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surge Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45-19:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: LPN/LVN Certifications: BLS Description: General Comments: Unit Information: Acute Care Unit Number of Beds: 30 Number of Staff: 40+ Type of staff: Day Shift: 1 Charge; 4-5 RNs/LPNs; 2-3 NAs Night Shift: 1 Charge; 4-5 RNs/LPNs; 2-3 NAs Patient Ratios: Supervise/ICU: 2-4:1; Med-Surg: 5-6:1 2-3 PCT on floor as appropriate Type of equipment: IV pumps; SCDs; glucometer; wound vac; feeding pump; lift equipment; Pyxis (nurses only) EMR: Cerner Typical hiring profile: Skills Most Recruited For: Must have: All RNs must have BLS, ACLS completed prior to end of orientation. PCT/NAs are required to have BLS. Preferred: Candidates with ICU/Stepdown experience. Staff with 1 year med/surg experience is preferred. List of typical procedures performed: IV starts; CVL; arterial lines; Foley catheters; EKG monitoring; wound care. Best Personality Fit: Able to function in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Care for all levels of care from med/surg to ICU. Required Certifications: BLS Floating Area(s): TCUs Dress Code: Nurses- Navy blue scrubs; NAs- galaxy/royal blue scrubs. Unit Guidelines/Policies: Utilizes a Team-Based Care model. All care providers, from MDs to nurses and pharmacists, meet daily to discuss patient care, treatments and discharge needs. Weekend rotation: 3 Mondays and Fridays per 6-week schedule. Holidays per staffing matrix. Position creation reason: Vacant Position.
