General Purpose The Productivity Engineer I is responsible for the development, implementation, documentation, and support of the engineered production standards as well as the development and implementation of bestmandated practices in a high‑volume distribution and logistics operation. Responsibilities include maintaining the SQL based Production Recording and the Labor Management System, along with developing and executing queries used in engineering analysis. The Productivity Engineer I works directly with Operations Managers and Supervisors during the development and implementation of best methods, standard conditions, and the engineered labor standards. The Productivity Engineer I collaborates across the network to ensure methods and standards are consistent. Base salary range: $70,310 - $82,500. The range depends on experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. It represents one component of the total compensation package. Essential Functions Develop best methods, standard conditions and engineered labor standards for multi‑variable production operations. Identify and evaluate improvements in methods, procedures, and workflow that increase productivity and decrease operating cost. Coordinate implementation of engineered methods, standards, and reporting systems, including conducting standards introduction meetings and analysis presentations with associates, supervisors, managers, and directors. Maintain the configuration and assist in the development of the production reporting applications and related interfaces with timekeeping, warehouse management and labor productivity systems. Execute queries and reports for collecting data used in engineering analysis. Maintain existing data‑collection applications and other SQL and MS Access‑based applications used in conjunction with the standards program. Collect and summarize time‑study and work‑sampling data to support development of engineered labor standards. Maintain knowledge of production and incentive‑pay reporting applications. Assist with troubleshooting data‑entry, reporting, and data‑collection problems. Assist in developing processes and mechanisms for labor forecasting, staffing, modeling, incentive‑performance/bonus reporting, and tracking, as required to support management of engineering projects. Advise and assist management with labor analysis and economic‑justification studies. Assist operating management with implementation of changes to established methods. Competencies Technical competence/expertise Quality Adaptability Planning and organizing Communication Analysis and judgment Qualifications And Special Skills Required B.S. degree in STEM with Industrial/Systems Engineering (preferred) or equivalent field or proven experience in engineering field Knowledge of SQL or MS Access databases Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities Experience with time‑study, work‑measurement, and warehouse‑floor data collection (preferred) Operations knowledge of distribution and related processes (preferred) Ability to communicate and interact effectively with non‑exempt associates, operational supervisors, and upper‑level management; bilingual English/Spanish preferred Available to work varying schedules across 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts as needed Ability to think in terms of process flow and identify operational components and interrelationships Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and technical writing skills Experience using PCs in a professional setting – developing and using standard applications such as spreadsheets, and word processors as typical tools to execute responsibilities Physical Requirements/Ada Requirements: Consistent timeliness and regular attendance. Job requires the ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer, sitting, standing, walking, talking on the telephone, attending in‑person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. Occasional requirements include bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include the ability to see information in print and/or electronically. The role requires regular in‑office presence for team interaction, meetings, client support, mentoring, coaching, or feedback but may combine in‑office and remote work. Up to 50% travel may be required, including frequent driving or overnight travel. Supervisory Responsibilities None
