Controls Systems Engineer

Responsibilities Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems, including low‑voltage subsystems such as lighting, nurse call, and data networks. Generate flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics. Develop, test, and commission software programs necessary to meet project requirements. Coordinate and create drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinate factory‑mounting processes to meet factory and project schedules. Assist in loading and commissioning system and network‑level controllers. Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades. Provide field change information for as‑built drawings and software updates. Keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues. Assist in training owners/operators on the total building control system. Participate in release meetings with the project field team. Perform value engineering to provide cost‑effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. Provide work directions to Systems Design Assistants as needed. Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of three years’ experience. Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry. Proficiency with control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and related subsystems. Experience integrating low‑voltage building subsystems using industry protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LON, and others. Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical audiences. Advanced computer skills, particularly with drafting and other computer‑related tools. Compensation and Benefits $71,000 – $108,000 USD annual. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
