This area offers diverse recreational attractions including the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Amana Colonies, and the Field of Dreams movie site, alongside natural destinations such as Maquoketa Caves State Park and various nature and wildlife areas. Visitors can experience entertainment venues like Adventureland theme park, Lost Island Waterpark, and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium. The region features distilleries, museums, restaurants, and outdoor activities including lake recreation and baseball games that provide year-round engagement opportunities.

The anesthesiologist will provide comprehensive anesthesia services during Monday-Friday shifts typically 5x8 hours with consideration for 10-hour shifts and flexible scheduling including 2 weeks on/1 week off arrangements. Responsibilities include managing diverse surgical cases at both the hospital and outpatient surgery center including general, bread and butter, OB/GYN, orthopedic, spine, cardiac, and some healthy pediatric cases at the hospital, as well as mainly urology, ophthalmology/cataracts, and occasionally healthy pediatric dental cases at the surgery center. Call coverage is not required, though optional call is available one weekday per month with 24-hour OB call also available. The position operates under an autonomous model with negotiable board certification requirements.
