NURSE MANAGER - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH/CRISIS STABILIZATION

Location: Griffin, GA
Full Time: Day/Mid-Day Shift - 9:00 AM-7:00 PM, 4 days per week with one weekend per month

Job Description

The Nurse Manager manages the clinical programs, nursing staff-including Health Aides, LPNs, and RNs-and service delivery of the crisis stabilization unit.

Responsibilities

• Creates schedules to ensure coverage that complies with State and other accrediting body guidelines and approves timesheets.

• Covers nursing shifts on the unit when needed.

• Coordinates with medical and clinical providers, administrative staff, other agency programs, and community stakeholders to coordinate care and operations.

• Performs assurance activities to ensure services are adequate, appropriate, and accessible in the community.

• Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.

• Provides ongoing education through staff meetings, classes, one-on-one training, emails, and other appropriate resources to ensure staff in CSU, CSC, and Temp Obs are adequately trained and competent.

• Provides supervision to nursing staff and ensures CSU, CSC, and Temp Obs operate efficiently.

• Assists the Director in ensuring all applicable State and Federal guidelines are followed.

• Monitors infection control, medication administration, and documentation for thoroughness and accuracy.

• Assists the Director in reviewing and updating policies.

Position Requirements

• Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.

• Minimum of one year paid Registered Nurse (RN) work experience within the past year providing direct patient care in a similar setting.

• BSN preferred.

• Experience in mental health, particularly in inpatient settings.

• Experience documenting in an electronic health record.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25/50 lbs.

• Physical demands may include sitting, standing and/or walking, pushing/pulling, handling, reaching, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders or stairs, and overhead reaching.
