Essential Functions Under administrative direction, serves as a Business Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois State Police (ISP) performing complex professional and advisory functions for the Application Services. Develops user stories, use cases, and program specifications, supporting design, testing, training, knowledge transfer, system tuning, and system implementation efforts to ensure business analysis results are accurately translated and maintained throughout the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Collaborates with Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) technical staff and serves as a project team leader on complex initiatives, overseeing project planning, task coordination, technical solution development, and quality assurance to ensure successful project delivery. Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve requirements gathering, articulation, process, and data modeling, testing and documentation process. Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields. Developed verbal and written communications skills, with ability to convey complex technical information clearly, precisely, and in a manner appropriate for diverse audiences. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting project requirements.
