Sr. Phlebotomy Supervisor – Twinsburg, OH Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range: Minimum of $63,200+ per year Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Role Overview Leads people and operations in creating a high-performing environment where employees can contribute their best while continuing to grow and develop their skills. Major areas of responsibility include employee engagement, hiring, training, and workforce planning with special focus on coaching, developing, and providing feedback to employees. Encourages cross-training and promotes a safe and professional environment in all areas supervised. Manages Phlebotomy Services which may include Patient Service Centers, In-Office Phlebotomy, and/or Mobile Phlebotomy with direct responsibility for up to 35 non-exempt employees to include Group Leads. Responsibilities Act as acting supervisor in absence of Territory Manager to ensure efficient day-to-day operations in territory. Work closely with Territory Manager during onboarding of newly hired supervisors; provide peer mentorship and guidance. Conduct coaching/mentoring and project facilitation/execution based on needs of territory or region. Travel and visit territory at least 1-2 days per month. Participate in interview and selection process for all territory supervisors. Assist Territory Manager as needed to drive Everyday Excellence. Demonstrate and promote Quest Diagnostics Behaviors and Values to contribute to overall Vision, Goals and Strategy. Work with Territory Manager to ensure fiscal responsibilities are met, including implementation of cost containment programs, management of overtime, participation in standardization initiatives, and capital expenditure needs assessment. Analyze and manage departmental budget for manpower and operational costs with Territory Manager. Organize and lead projects within workgroup and with cross-functional groups; may give presentations and speak in groups. Implement SOPs for phlebotomy services in accordance with Quest Diagnostics guidelines. Ensure all Federal, State & local licensure requirements are met, working with QA and Medical Director offices. Perform site visits at all assigned PSCs/IOPs and mobile phlebotomy sites and document findings; conduct QA audits. Prepare month-end reports. Reinforce customer-focused improvement by investigating, resolving, and responding to internal and external complaints using Everyday Excellence Principles. Provide performance-oriented supervision, training, coaching, and development for new employees and staff on all job duties, compliance, and annual competency requirements. Prepare employee schedules; monitor attendance and performance; maintain adequate coverage; provide corrective action and counseling as required; administer annual performance appraisals. Oversee inventory process for supervised facilities. Relocate, open, or close PSCs and IOPs as needed. Participate in interview, selection, and hiring of new employees who demonstrate Quest Behaviors. Maintain accuracy of payroll and associated records. Properly maintain required records and documentation. Know where to find, understand, and correctly articulate company and departmental policies, protocols, and procedures including Safety, Compliance, and Quality Assurance. Demonstrate organizational commitment. Ensure all employees meet driving requirements on company business. Perform all other duties as assigned within scope of position. Qualifications Required Work Experience: N/A Preferred Work Experience Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. 5+ years in phlebotomy, laboratory, or other health care environment. QMS/Project Management experience. Demonstrated leadership experience. Keyboard/data entry application; PC experience. Customer service in a service environment. Physical and Mental Requirements Requires travel. Extensive use of phone and PC. Prolonged standing/sitting. Fine dexterity with hands/steadiness. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; may occasionally need to lift 40 pounds; carry up to 15 pounds for several minutes at a time. Talking. Vision – requires constant mental visual attention to details.
