Position Overview

Our organization is on the lookout for a full-time psychiatrist (1.0 FTE) to become a vital part of our team, offering a distinctive chance to engage across various levels of care. The role entails:

• 3 days per week: Focused on the Comprehensive Addiction Psychiatry Service (CAPS) and the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at our Biddeford Main Street location.
• 2 days per week: A combined role delivering psychiatric care for the PHP and providing coverage for the CAPS Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
• 1 day per week: Exclusively dedicated to the CAPS program, conducting IOP intakes, following up with patients, and managing outpatient care for a limited caseload of CAPS clients.
• 2 days per week: Outpatient care at either:
  • Biddeford Ambulatory Clinic on Springbrook Drive, or
  • Springvale Ambulatory Clinic, depending on the provider's preference.

CAPS specializes in providing care for individuals facing substance use disorders alongside co-occurring psychiatric conditions. Our services encompass:

• Intensive outpatient programming
• Medication-assisted treatment
• Integrated behavioral health strategies within a multidisciplinary team

The CAPS Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an in-person initiative designed as a transitional step for individuals moving from the PHP program, facilitating their recovery and ensuring a seamless transition to outpatient treatment.

Located at our Biddeford Main Street site, the PHP serves as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient care, providing an alternative for those needing more intensive treatment than standard outpatient visits. The program features:

• Two distinct tracks:
  • One for mental health stabilization
  • Another for substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring conditions
• Structured, group-based therapy aimed at emotional regulation, cognitive restructuring, and overall wellness
• Individualized treatment planning with specific tracks and durations
• A multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses
• A focus on alleviating psychiatric symptoms and preventing the need for inpatient hospitalization

Our ambulatory clinics in Biddeford (Springbrook Drive) and Springvale are integral to our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, ensuring prompt access to comprehensive and coordinated behavioral health services for individuals and families in York County. Both locations provide:

• Outpatient psychiatry and medication management
• Individual and family therapy
• Specialized treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions
• Case management and care coordination
• Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team services
• Trauma-informed, recovery-oriented methodologies
• Telehealth and hybrid care options

• MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Maine
