Role Description: The Physician Assistant at Florida Center for Epilepsy will provide direct patient care in an outpatient neurology setting, focusing on a broad range of neurologic conditions with a subspecialty focus on epilepsy, sleep disorders, and seizure management. Day-to-day responsibilities include taking patient histories and performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and providing ongoing follow-up care. The role involves educating patients and families about epilepsy, medication adherence, safety precautions, and lifestyle modifications;
documenting encounters in the electronic health record;
and collaborating with physicians and other clinicians. The Physician Assistant will coordinate care with hospitals, primary care providers, and other specialists as needed, and may assist with quality improvement initiatives and practice protocols. This is a full-time, on-site role located in St. Petersburg, FL.

Qualifications

• Active Physician Assistant license in Florida and current NCCPA certification, or eligibility to obtain these before the start date.
• Clinical experience in neurology, epilepsy, or related fields (e.G., internal medicine, primary care) is highly preferred;
  new graduates with a strong interest in neurology, epilepsy, and sleep medicine are encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
• Strong communication and patient education skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly to patients and caregivers.
• Competence in electronic health record documentation, prescription management, and care coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, patient-focused environment.
• High level of professionalism, reliability, and ethical judgment, with attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety in patient care.
• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required;
  BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
