Senior Property Accountant

Senior Insurance AccountantOur client, an insurance company, located near Chicago, IL is looking for a Senior Insurance Accountant to join their team. Insurance accounting experience required!This role will be responsible for transactional accounting related to premiums, commissions, and losses that feed into statutory reporting.Responsibilities:Reviews and analyzes general ledger transactions and batches by gathering financial data and using appropriate systemsProvides back up assistance for daily accounting tasks such as deposits, invoice entry, billing and collections, prepaid and deferred items, or fixed assetsInitiates wire and ACH transactions and prepares bank transactions as well as assists in escheat processReviews and reports on monthly close checklist items within required timeline and provide backup where necessary on close items and is responsible for modifications to the close checklist to support financial statementsManages aspects of the annual audit by working closely with external auditors and staff to complete open item requestsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experienceExperience in troubleshooting and resolving reconciliation, ledger and reporting issuesInsurance industry knowledge and a working knowledge of insurance systems preferredAbility to multi-task and learn quicklyAttention to detail and organizational skillsIf you, or someone you know is interested, please apply today! disABLEDperson Inc
