Duties

Counsel clients on healthy lifestyle behaviors to minimize health risks and prevent further disease complications from diagnosed disease processes.

Obtain nutrition assessment data and information regarding usual nutrition patterns, lifestyle, food purchasing practices and resources.

Develop, implement, and individualize plans for nutrition intervention in accordance with the client's medical/personal goals.

Maintain ongoing communication with the patient's referring provider and ancillary providers to ensure continuity of care.

Teach nutrition principles and normal nutrition principles.

Plan, implement, and coordinate installation working groups to affect change in the nutrition environment.
