Summary
There are two positions available: one Career Service and one Term-Limited Temporary In this role, the registered nurse will join a multidisciplinary Street Medicine Team that addresses the medical, behavioral health, and harm reduction needs of people living homeless. This RN will have a weekly schedule that is primarily based at our low-barrier pocket clinic located inside of the ETS-REACH Markham drop-in space in Belltown and will also support street outreach on a regular basis This role may occasionally provide support to other current or future Mobile Medical Teams providing float coverage as well as to increase capacity for conducting nurse visits. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing nursing care in ambulatory care and outreach settings as well as comfort with practicing to the top of the RN scope of practice under standing orders and / or with off-site provider consultation. Nurses with lived experience and / or who hold marginalized identities (e.g. BIPOC, LGBTQ2S) are encouraged to apply. Work Location: This position will work between King County Correctional Facility and Maleng Regional Justice Center. Employees must reside in Washington state and live within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite.

Job Duties
- Provide outreach and engage with people living homeless in community settings such as encampments, sidewalks, parking lots, outside in the field, day centers, and homeless service sites.
- Triage and assess a wide variety of medical, behavioral health, and psycho-social needs for new and established patients.
- Provide comprehensive patient education and support for sexual and reproductive health care, substance use disorder, harm reduction practices, and chronic disease management.
- Conduct immunizations, complex wound care, point of care testing, venipuncture, and provide test results
- Safely administer and dispense medications in accordance with policy and professional standards.
- Document patient care in electronic medical record (Epic).
- Facilitate linkages to primary, behavioral health, and specialty care.
- Track new referrals and patient follow-up needs; participate in daily huddle to plan outreach encounters based on acuity.
- Provide expertise regarding public health nursing scope, practice, and policy at individual, programmatic, and community levels.
- Participate in program evaluation and planning; continually tailor services and operations to provide accessible, high quality, culturally relevant care for unsheltered populations.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to meet laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Provide training, orientation, and education to staff, clients, students, and the community.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and emergency drills.
- Provide birth control and pregnancy options counseling (including referrals for pregnancy termination services)
- Train clients on the use of naloxone and dispense naloxone.
- Assess and counsel clients regarding opiate use disorder and medication assisted treatment.
- Share responsibility with other Street Medicine Team staff to drive outreach vans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Washington State license as a Registered Nurse (in good standing) or a master's degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN, DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing.
- Washington State Registered Nurse License in good standing.
- Washington State Drivers' License in good standing.
- Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers.
- Successful completion of background check and pre-employment physical.
