Plasma Center Registered Nurse (BSN)

Job Description We are seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support Plasma Center operations in Deptford, NJ. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, follows the guidance of BioLife Medical Affairs, and supports environmental, health & safety, and pandemic response initiatives. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of the Center Physician's standing orders and coordination of donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings that are unacceptable to donors or for medical/technical guidance related to donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate‑equivalent nursing program meeting state requirements. Current state license or certification as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Satisfy FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits and Compensation Hourly wage range: $38.72 – $53.24 (adjusted based on qualifications, experience, and location).
