Grocery Associate FT

Grocery Associate Assists the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department. Replenishes product throughout the store. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service. Responsibilities Service (70%) – Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated to help build and retain confidence and loyalty. Ensures the department is merchandised per plan, including daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for shelf product availability, freshness, product rotation, inventory levels, stocking—maintaining POG integrity and shelf price tags/signage, ordering, and cooler/freezer conditioning. Offers customers assistance in finding or suggesting product. Leadership (10%) – Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, encouraging teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job‑specific information. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines. Financial (10%) – Maintains awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reports discrepancies. Reviews and inspects products for quality and freshness and takes appropriate action. Ensures product is held at the proper temperature per food safety guidelines and retains documentation of temperature logs per policy. Compliance/Safety (10%) – Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity. Adheres to regulatory compliance requirements including USDA, COOl, and DOA. Executes product recalls and withdrawals promptly, secures and removes all items from customer access, and reinforces safety programs. Reports all safety risks, incidents, and illegal activity to store management. Ensures eligibility for wage and hour policies and provides necessary safety training. Maintains equipment in good repair and assists with remediation of safety hazards. Performs other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED required. Language: English required; Spanish preferred. Experience: 0–3 years of supervisory experience or related experience preferred. Age: Must be 18 years of age or older. Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States. Background: Successful completion of pre‑employment drug testing and background check. Skills: Strong customer service skills; exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills. Environmental Factors Portable approximately 0–30 feet, standing or walking for extended periods, reaching, carrying, pushing, or lifting loads up to 50 lbs (or 250 lbs when specified). Frequently required to twist back and/or neck, walk on cluttered or slippery floors, work with hazardous equipment, and be exposed to loud noise, skin irritants, dust, fumes, and sprays. Indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid working conditions. Cleaning supplies, general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, and material handling equipment such as racks, carts, pallet jacks, and shopping carts used. Personal protective equipment includes goggles, gloves, back brace. Lifting requirement 50 lbs; pulling 250 lbs. Schedule Varied shifts. #J-18808-Ljbffr
