Veterinary Extern - General Practice- $2500 Stipend

Overview Join us at Oak Knoll Animal Hospital for a focused, hands‑on externship designed to enhance clinical skills in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Oak Knoll is a small animal practice offering a hands‑on externship for veterinary students who want real experience. Externs will work closely with two highly engaged veterinarians—one with a passion for general practice and exotics, and another with a surgical focus and acupuncture. Our well‑trained support team allows doctors to practice at the top of their license, and externs learn through hands‑on experiences. Located in the Quad Cities, East Moline offers a small‑town feel with easy access to outdoor recreation and larger metro amenities—just 2.5 hours from Chicago where our new PetOne Veterinary Training Center is located. This externship is ideal for motivated 4th‑year students who thrive in a busy, team‑driven practice and are eager to learn and produce. Externs are eligible for a $2,500 stipend to support travel and living expenses. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians in general practice, exotic animal care, surgery, and acupuncture procedures. Participate in patient history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic workup. Observe and support surgical cases and postoperative care. Engage with support staff to learn workflow within a small practice. Qualifications 4th‑year veterinary student or equivalent clinical training. Motivated, team‑driven, and eager to learn in a busy setting. Strong communication skills and willingness to work during varied shifts. Benefits $2,500 stipend for travel and living expenses.
