Nurse Extern - Step Down

DMC Harper University Hospital is located in Detroit, Michigan. Job Summary The Nurse Extern I (NE I) is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The NE I is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and the NE I’s skills and abilities. The NE I will report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care activities as directed. Assist with indirect patient care tasks. Report any deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. Complete tasks delegated by a registered nurse based on patient needs and skill level. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all hospital policies. Qualifications Completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course through an accredited school of nursing. Successful completion of all courses to remain in the program. Work Hours PRN, Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
