Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) RN position located in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic procedures within an acute care hospital setting. The selected candidate will support a level I trauma center with a focus on complex cardiac surgeries, including TAVR, bypass procedures, and ventricular assist device placements.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 3 years of operating room experience, with a focus on cardiovascular surgeries; current Illinois nursing license in active status or in application process; BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; at least one year of applicable clinical experience in OR and trauma settings preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with open heart procedures, including TAVR, CABG, and VAD management; experience in a Level I trauma center and teaching hospital environment; familiarity with Cerner charting system and universal protocol procedures; certification in ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Schedule: 5 days per week; start date 09/07/2026; daily hours 8 with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Additional Requirements: Must have active Illinois license or be in the application process; candidates must have experience with aortic aneurysm repair, coronary bypass, intra-aortic balloon pump, and other cardiovascular procedures; open to first-time travelers with the required trauma and cardiovascular experience; on-call responsibilities 1-2 nights per week and every 5th weekend; general OR, thoracic, and vascular procedures experience required; floating within scope may be required; no more than 5 days RTO preferred; candidates must complete orientation modules prior to start and ensure compliance with all onboarding requirements
