Lirios Pediatrics is a nonprofit, community-based free clinic dedicated to providing high-quality, no-cost health care to uninsured children in our community. Position Summary We are seeking two compassionate and dependable Spanish/English Bilingual Medical Assistants to join our pediatric care team (one FT and one PT). In this role, you will support providers in delivering direct patient care to children and serve as a vital communication bridge for families who speak languages other than English. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of uninsured children and their families. Key Responsibilities Room patients and obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, and head circumference, as age-appropriate. Document patient history, primary complaints, and current medications in the electronic health record (EHR). Assist providers during examinations and pediatric procedures. Independently review records and administer vaccinations according to AAP vaccine schedule. Administer medications as directed by supervising provider. Perform point-of-care testing, collect specimens, and complete basic laboratory tasks. Provide accurate verbal interpretation and support communication between families and clinical staff. Prepare and stock exam rooms and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals; assist families in navigating community resources. Adhere to infection control, safety, HIPAA, and clinic policies at all times. Required Qualifications Bilingual (English and Spanish) required. Must be able to speak, read, and interpret fluently for patients and families. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work compassionately with children and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Basic computer proficiency and comfort using an EHR. Preferred Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) — strongly preferred. Prior experience in a pediatric, community health, or free/nonprofit clinic setting. Familiarity with immunization schedules and pediatric workflows.
