Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a PICU/L&D position requiring 2+ years PICU experience and recent children's hospital experience.

Details

• Children's hospital setting with primary placement in L&D, with home unit of NICU, PICU, or Peds assigned upon arrival
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to PICU, NICU, and Peds, as well as potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP certification required (can be obtained once offered if placed in L&D)
• PALS certification preferred
• NBRC RRT certification required
• Indiana state license required (temporary license accepted if application for permanent license has been submitted); license required if applicable
• Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience required
• L&D experience required
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3-5 years required
• Candidates with Level I Trauma adult facility experience may be considered
• Experience with ventilator management, airway management, medication delivery systems, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with Servo U ventilator preferred
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to pediatric and neonatal patients including ventilator management, airway management, and medication administration
• Work as part of a pediatric critical care team with assignment to NICU, PICU, or Peds based on facility need
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Any current or former IU Health perm/PRN employee must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment within IU Health must take a break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Indiana residents are considered local candidates
