Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Manager (Returns) to lead our returns processing and reverse logistics functions. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the efficient management of returned goods, ensuring seamless coordination between inbound returns, inventory reconciliation, and outbound disposition. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize warehouse workflows, and uphold the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the returns department, ensuring timely processing of returned products while maintaining high accuracy in inventory control and data entry within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives aligned with Lean principles to streamline return workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
• Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to coordinate freight movements related to returns, including managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) arrangements, and freight scheduling.
• Manage inventory reconciliation for returned items, ensuring proper classification, disposition, and documentation in accordance with supply chain policies.
• Collaborate with procurement, production planning, demand planning, and shipping & receiving teams to optimize inventory levels and support order fulfillment goals.
• Monitor key performance indicators related to warehouse distribution, dispatching, order fulfillment, and freight costs; utilize supply chain analytics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations by supervising warehouse staff during forklift operations and other warehouse activities; promote a safe working environment through ongoing training.
• Prepare budgets for the returns operation, track expenses related to freight, procurement, and warehouse activities; analyze profit & loss statements to improve cost management.
• Coordinate with transportation planning teams to optimize fleet management and ensure timely pickups and deliveries for returned goods.
• Lead efforts in process standardization using tools like AS400 systems or other supply chain management software to enhance operational consistency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including inventory management, warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems like AS400, and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean methodologies or continuous improvement frameworks.
• Experience managing third-party logistics providers (3PL), freight carriers including NVOCC operations, and transportation planning.
• Familiarity with procurement processes, purchasing strategies, demand planning, production planning, and freight/shipping & receiving procedures.
• Proficiency in supervising teams with excellent leadership skills; ability to foster a safety-conscious culture during forklift operation and daily warehouse activities.
• Knowledge of budget development and profit & loss analysis related to warehouse operations.
• Strong analytical skills with experience using supply chain analytics tools for performance tracking and decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments including procurement, logistics, inventory control, and customer service.
