Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level 3 NICU setting, managing a patient population ranging from 22 weeks gestation and up, including micro preemies and complex diagnoses such as abdominal defects, pre-cardiac repair, PPHN, CDH, and other genetic conditions
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–3 in NICU and 1:3–4 in the Intermediate Care (NIC) area
• Titrate drips per physician orders, including Fentanyl, Morphine, and Precedex
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including conventional ventilators, oscillator ventilators, JET ventilators, CPAP, Nasal IMV, heated high flow, and tracheostomy
• Participate in self-scheduling with block scheduling available; assist with holiday coverage as needed and float to other units (PICU, Peds, Nursery, and others) when required — travelers are first to float
• Maintain active BLS and NRP certifications throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated prior to submission)
• BLS certification (required)
• NRP certification (required)
• Ability to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience strongly preferred
• Experience with micro preemie care preferred
• Familiarity with advanced respiratory modalities including oscillator and JET ventilators
• Experience titrating vasoactive and sedation drips in a neonatal critical care environment
