Position Summary This position serves as a Legal Administrative Specialist, located in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the Pardon Attorney in Washington, DC. It supports the President’s clemency process for individuals convicted of offenses against the United States. Qualifications GS-0901-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level or equivalent. Experience must include (1) assisting in preparing legal documents or materials; (2) assisting in researching or answering legal inquiries. Education: One full year of graduate level education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position. Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all requirements for a bachelor’s degree with criteria (1) upper third of the graduating class or (2) GPA of 3.0 or higher (B or better) or GPA of 3.5 or higher (B+ or better) or (3) membership in an approved national scholastic honor society. Combination of Education and Experience: A combined percentage of education and experience must equal or exceed 100%. Calculate by dividing months of experience by 12, dividing completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18, and adding the two percentages. GS-0901-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent. Experience must include (1) using office automation software to produce legal documents or materials; (2) providing administrative support for legal personnel; and (3) assisting with legal research or investigation. Education: Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. that demonstrates necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Combination of Education and Experience: Combines education and experience to equal or exceed 100%. Compute by dividing months of experience by 12, and dividing graduate semester hours beyond the first year by 18, then adding the percentages. MUST meet all qualification requirements by 07/27/2026.
