Material HandlerShift: (Monday- Friday) 1st shift 6:00am- 2:40pmPay Range: $21.50- $25.25 per hourPosition Description: Material handlers are tasked to work on a variety of different components that vary from location to location. Activities include, but are not limited to, operating heavy machinery such as forklifts, tuggers, tractors, hoists, & cranes. Although you will receive appropriate training to operate these heavy vehicles, you will not be exclusively operating vehicles. Material handlers may also check, store, disburse, or fill orders for parts, materials, tools, equipment and supplies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for.Owning and helping improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and DeliveryMaintaining and reporting daily receiving and shipping activitiesReporting defects and needs for repairsKeeping lines stocked with the proper materialsOperating ForkliftsPerforming additional work as assigned by the supervisor or coordinator, which may require the employee to assist in different departmentsWearing approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of equipment in the workplaceTools & Equipment: Below is a list of examples of the potential tools and equipment you may find yourself working with depending upon your department and location. The employee needs full-range of motion in arms and hands in this position. All personnel must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. In this position, some employees also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
