Assistant Product Manager

Headquartered in Washington State, Star Asia USA, LLC dba Titan Tools is a global corporation specializing in DIY, retail-oriented tools and shop equipment. Our products are sold through tool and equipment distributors, automotive retailers, mass merchandisers, and eCommerce. Our customers include major retailers such as O’Reilly Auto Parts, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, Amazon, and Princess Auto. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Product Manager to support the development, launch, and ongoing management of our product lines. This is a hands-on role within Product Marketing that works closely with Sales, Graphics, Purchasing, Sourcing and Operations throughout product development and business operation processes. The Assistant Product Manager will support market and competitive research, product development, product content, packaging, pricing, and product launches while helping ensure projects stay on track and meet customer and business needs. BASIC FUNCTION Supports the planning, development, commercialization, and ongoing management of assigned products throughout the product lifecycle, utilizing the company’s product development process. Works closely with Sales, Graphics, Purchasing, Sourcing and Operations to support product launches, maintain existing product lines, and help achieve sales and profitability goals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct consumer, customer, market, and competitive research to identify product trends, opportunities, and competitive differences. Compile and present findings to support product positioning and development decisions. Support and coordinate the commercialization and launch of new products, helping ensure product launches are completed accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with established sales and profitability goals. Coordinate the development of marketing and product collateral for assigned projects, working with the Creative team and other departments to ensure materials accurately represent the product, brand, and customer requirements. Track project timelines and follow up with internal teams to keep projects moving forward. Support the development and management of Company Brand and Private Label products, including product research, branding, packaging, product content, and launch activities. Support marketing initiatives for assigned products by gathering market, customer, competitive, and product information. Assist in evaluating market opportunities and customer needs to support business and product objectives. Coordinate the creation and maintenance of product assets and content, including in-use photography, video, installation guides, eCommerce content, and other product materials. Coordinate product samples and support quality control processes to ensure products and content meet company standards. Support pricing and gross margin analysis for assigned products by gathering cost, competitive, market, and pricing information and preparing recommendations for review. Research industry trends, customer needs, competitive products, and market opportunities to identify potential new product opportunities. Support Sales and Marketing teams in evaluating and developing new product ideas. Support Sales teams with customer line reviews, product presentations, and other customer meetings. Participate in trade shows and customer meetings as needed to gain market insight, support product initiatives, and represent the company’s product lines. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers throughout product development to communicate product requirements, confirm specifications, review samples, resolve issues, and help keep projects on schedule. Coordinate new product part number setup, including product categorization and hierarchy placement, system setup, and maintenance of product information within the company’s ERP (Netsuite) and PIM (Salsify) systems. Support the ongoing development and introduction of new products while assisting with the maintenance of existing product lines. Coordinate product updates, packaging requirements, and other changes to ensure product information and materials remain accurate and current, according to company’s standard or customer’s requirement. Write and edit product content, including product documentation, marketing materials, product descriptions, and user guides, ensuring information is accurate, clear, and aligned with product positioning and customer needs. Support the development of product merchandising strategies tailored to customer and channel requirements, including product assortment, presentation, packaging, and supporting materials. Participate in domestic and international factory visits as needed. Assist in evaluating supplier capabilities, product offerings, quality, and potential opportunities for new or existing Titan product lines. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION/SKILLS A. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered. Previous experience in product management, marketing, product development, project coordination, or a related field is preferred. B. Technical / Interpersonal Skills Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Purchasing, Marketing, Creative, Product Development, and external suppliers. Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and communicate market, customer, competitive, and product information. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage product information, specifications, pricing, packaging, and other product-related details accurately. Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging, and technically accurate product content and documentation. Strong verbal communication skills and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and other business partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with ERP, PIM, or other product information systems is a plus. Creative and curious mindset with an interest in identifying new product ideas, market opportunities, and ways to improve product presentation and merchandising. Ability to learn technical product information and understand how products are used in real-world applications. Previous experience in the DIY Tool, Automotive Aftermarket, Hardware, Retail, or related industries is preferred. Hands-on experience with tools, automotive products, or DIY applications is a plus. Willingness and ability to travel as needed for customer meetings, trade shows, supplier/factory visits, and meetings with Sales personnel and end users.
