Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: Illinois state RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) Must-Have: RN MED/SURG, CARDIOLOGY, BLS - AHA Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a designated group of patients. The RN provides care to these patients by utilizing the nursing process and nursing trends. The RN will also utilize technology, financial, and human resources within the institution's philosophy. Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided. This documentation is essential for integrating information for use by the healthcare team. Completes the initial assessment upon patient admission. Develops an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs in accordance with unit standards. Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based on continuous evaluation of the patient’s status. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicates directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand the knowledge base and improve patient care. Identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative to address them. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.
