Patient Procedure Scheduler – General Surgery – Full Time, Days Location: Lake Forest, IL. Salary range: $18.85–$26.38 hourly. 40‑hour week, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑5:00 pm. Surgery scheduling experience preferred. Description The Patient Procedure Scheduler reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, complies with Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and meets all relevant policies, guidelines, and regulatory standards. Primary responsibility is scheduling surgical and pre‑operative procedures and maintaining related schedules. Duties include registration, verifying insurance, obtaining pre‑certifications, and instructing patients on procedures. The role may also serve as a Patient Service Representative or Patient Liaison, covering check‑in/out functions or provider templates and correspondence. Responsibilities Register and schedule patients for surgical and pre‑operative procedures. Inform patients of their financial responsibilities. Provide patients with surgical and procedural information and instructions as appropriate. Obtain and/or facilitate pre‑certification as required. Maintain calendars and schedules related to surgical and pre‑operative procedures. Answer all incoming patient inquiries. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: High‑school diploma or GED equivalent. Two years previous healthcare experience. Experience in a customer‑service role. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. Previous experience with an electronic medical records system.
