What We’re Looking For:

• Proven fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in educational or school environments preferred
• Ability to effectively facilitate communication for students, staff, and families
• Demonstrated sensitivity to cultural and linguistic differences
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit
• Valid national or state certification (such as EIPA, RID, NIC, or equivalent) is highly desirable
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional codes of conduct

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom lessons, activities, group discussions, and assemblies
• Support students in understanding and participating fully in school life
• Translate spoken English into ASL and vice versa in real time
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to address individual student needs
• Support communication during meetings with parents or guardians when needed
