3rd Shift Forklift Operator / Backup CDL DriverJob DescriptionSchedule: 10:00pm - 6:30amJob SummaryUrban Farmer is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator / Backup CDL Driver to join our Warehouse & Logistics team. This role will primarily operate as a forklift driver supporting warehouse operations, inventory movement, shipping, and receiving activities, while also serving as a backup CDL driver as needed for coverage and relief support.The ideal candidate will have prior forklift experience, a valid CDL license, strong attention to safety, and flexibility to support both 1st and 2nd shift operations when needed.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesForklift & Warehouse OperationsSafely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment throughout the facilityLoad and unload trucks, trailers, and incoming/outgoing shipmentsMove raw materials, packaging, work-in-progress, and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production areasEnsure pallets and product loads are secure, accurate, and properly stagedAssist with shipping, receiving, inventory counts, and material verificationMaintain organization and cleanliness within warehouse and dock areasComplete required shift paperwork, inventory documentation, and shipping recordsFollow production schedules and support operational needs across departmentsBackup CDL Driver SupportServe as backup CDL driver when coverage is needed due to vacations, absences, or operational demandsPerform yard spotting and trailer movements safely and efficientlyConduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspectionsTransport trailers and materials between designated locations as requiredMaintain accurate logs and transportation documentationFollow all DOT regulations, company driving policies, and safety proceduresMay be required to fuel trailersGeneral ResponsibilitiesFollow all GMP, Food Safety, OSHA, Plant Safety, and company policiesWear required PPE and maintain a safe working environmentReport equipment issues, damages, or safety concerns immediatelyAssist other departments as operational needs requireSupport team goals while maintaining productivity and quality standardsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious forklift experience requiredValid CDL license requiredPrior warehouse or food manufacturing experience preferredAbility to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipmentStrong understanding of warehouse safety proceduresAbility to work independently and in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to support both 1st and 2nd shift coverage as neededStrong attendance and reliabilityPhysical DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout shiftAbility to work in cold, freezer, and warehouse environmentsAbility to safely operate equipment for extended periods of timeMust be able to wear all required PPEWork EnvironmentThis position operates in a food manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to refrigerated and freezer conditions, moving machinery, forklift traffic, and varying noise levels. Safety and food quality standards must be followed at all times.
