Job Summary The Office of Investments is seeking an Analyst to join our collaborative operations team, working alongside others who value intellectual curiosity and teamwork. We welcome early career professionals with 0‑2 years of experience, a strong work ethic, analytical mindset, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The Analyst supports the Investment Office’s operational data management and reporting needs. Reporting to a manager and working closely with senior analysts, the Analyst assists with internal controls, data collection, reconciliation, reporting, and documentation. The role requires conceptual knowledge of practices and procedures within the discipline, typically gained through a college degree or equivalent experience, and builds proficiency by performing structured work assignments under supervision. For Analysts interested in further education, the University provides financial support for an MBA at Booth and the CFA designation. This position offers the option to work remotely on Fridays, except for required on‑site meetings. Responsibilities Support established internal controls and procedures to collect, reconcile, and report cash flow, valuation, and performance‑related data; follow documented processes and checklists. Perform routine investment support functions, such as data requests, standard reconciliations, document intake, and status tracking, while building familiarity with systems, stakeholders, and workflows. Assist with centralizing and maintaining key investment data, including liquidity terms, holdings, performance details, and manager communications, by entering, updating, and validating information in approved repositories. Support process documentation by maintaining organized records (notes, supporting files, audit trails) and updating documentation as directed. Use existing procedures to investigate routine data questions; escalated discrepancies, breaks, or non‑standard items to senior team members for resolution. Prepare routine exhibits, extracts, and data sets for internal stakeholders using standard templates; verify completeness and formatting prior to distribution. Assist with daily/weekly data verification activities, including cash position checks, tracking inflows/outflows, and basic exposure checks, according to established procedures under supervision. Support performance reporting processes by gathering inputs, performing basic validations, and helping maintain historical records; do not independently own final calculations without review. Assist in collecting and reporting data for industry surveys and peer benchmarking by following standard instructions and maintaining organized historical files. Participate in process improvements by identifying recurring issues, suggesting clarifications to documentation, and helping test small enhancements under direction, such as template improvements, quality checks, and workflow steps. Learn and apply office tools, for example Excel, reporting platforms, and documentation systems, through formal training and on‑the‑job coaching. May assist with basic testing/QA steps using provided test scripts. Support many facets of the investment process, including the selection and monitoring of external investment specialists across asset classes. Source and perform due diligence of potential new investments. Perform industry analysis to determine investment attractiveness of various investment strategies. Perform other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: College or university degree in a related field. Work Experience: Knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related discipline. Preferred Qualifications Some exposure in investment operations, performance analysis, or a related discipline. Familiarity with applying AI and machine learning tools for investment and operations workflow automation, data validation, and performance analysis. Preferred Competencies Performs routine assignments with strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy. Has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the discipline, typically acquired through a college degree or equivalent experience. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments with feedback. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems; knows when to escalates non‑routine issues. Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from more senior roles; works under close to general supervision. Strong organizational skills to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain clear documentation. Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to summarize status, flag issues, and ask effective questions. Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information; exercises sound judgment and confidentiality. Functions as a reliable team member and builds effective working relationships across the office. Working Conditions In‑office presence Monday–Wednesday; remote option on Thursday and Friday. Job Details Role Impact: Individual Contributor Scheduled Weekly Hours: 37.5 FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Range: $85,000.00 – $105,000.00 (University’s good faith estimate of possible compensation offer at the time of posting) Benefits Eligible: Yes.
