We are looking for a dependable Prep Cook / Dishwasher to join our Guckenheimer culinary team. This is a hands-on position that combines food preparation, dishwashing, sanitation, and general kitchen support.


Daily responsibilities may shift between food prep and dishwashing depending on the needs of the business, so we're looking for someone who is flexible, reliable, and willing to jump in wherever needed.


This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a professional kitchen and wants a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with daytime hours.

What You'll Do

• Assist with food preparation for daily meals, special events, and catered functions
• Complete assigned prep lists and kitchen-preparation tasks
• Follow recipes, production sheets, and directions from culinary leadership
• Assist with basic cooking and food-preparation tasks as assigned
• Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other kitchen equipment
• Set up and maintain the pot sink according to food-safety and HACCP procedures
• Return clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to the appropriate storage areas
• Sweep and mop kitchen and service-area floors
• Remove trash safely and as directed
• Keep food-preparation, dishwashing, storage, and kitchen areas clean and organized
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and work surfaces
• Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, food processors, blenders, and choppers when required
• Follow all food-safety, HACCP, workplace-safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures
• Let the Chef or manager know about ingredient shortages, equipment concerns, food-safety issues, or other problems requiring attention
• Work as part of the culinary team to keep daily operations running smoothly
• Participate in required team meetings
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of professional cooking experience or equivalent culinary education
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
• Previous experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, hotel, catering operation, corporate dining environment, or other food-service kitchen preferred
• Comfortable performing both food-preparation and dishwashing responsibilities
• Able to follow recipes, instructions, food-safety procedures, and sanitation standards
• Comfortable using commercial kitchen equipment
• Reliable and dependable
• Works well as part of a team
• Flexible and willing to assist in different areas of the kitchen based on business needs
• Takes pride in keeping a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
• Able to work efficiently during busy meal periods

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on kitchen position. You should be comfortable:

• Standing for long periods of time, up to approximately 8 hours
• Bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling
• Frequently lifting up to 35 pounds
• Using team lifts, carts, and other appropriate assistance when moving heavier items
• Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Working under pressure and meeting deadlines during peak meal periods
• Using common commercial kitchen and dishwashing equipment
