Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to adult patients with various medical needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide patient care in a 40-bed unit with an average daily census of 24 patients.
• Monitor and manage adult patients with cardiac, renal, respiratory, oncology, and other medical conditions.
• Titrate intravenous drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin as required.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve patient experience and outcomes.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips to monitor cardiac rhythms.
• Assist with patient mobility and use equipment such as overhead lifts and vein finders.

Shift details include:

• 12-hour shifts: 0630 to 1830, 1830 to 0630.
• Weekend requirements: Every other weekend is mandatory.
• Holiday requirements: Minimum of two holidays during the contract period.

Qualifications include:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Competency in managing arterial lines is necessary.

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) serves a diverse patient population, with a primary focus on Hispanic and Somalian communities. The staff is committed to creating a responsive and communicative environment regarding patient care and medication management.

Additional notes include:

• RNs are required to undergo a pass/fail exam during orientation and must achieve a minimum score of 90% to continue employment.
• In accordance with the unit's policies, artificial nails are prohibited.
• Floating to MedSurg or ICU may be necessary to accommodate patient needs within the PCU acuity level.
