CFO

Job Overview
Search Solution Group is seeking a CFO on behalf of our client, a Construction company. The CFO will provide financial leadership across a complex, multi-entity organization, overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, cash flow, tax compliance, banking relationships, and financial strategy. This role will partner closely with the President to provide clear financial insight and support long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while establishing clear expectations and efficient workflows.
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Senior Accounting functions across multiple entities.
• Provide the President with financial analysis and visibility into cash flow, profitability, and regional risk.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes across all operating entities.
• Oversee intercompany eliminations, joint ventures, and consolidated financial reporting.
• Manage banking and surety relationships, including credit lines and bonding capacity.
• Oversee corporate filings, tax schedules, and state and local tax compliance.
• Ensure accurate construction accounting, financial reporting, and adherence to applicable accounting standards.
• Partner with operational leadership to support financial planning and business decisions.

Requirements Include
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

• 10+ years of progressive construction accounting experience.
• 3+ years of Controller-level experience.
• Proven experience managing accounting teams within a complex, multi-entity organization.
• Experience with multi-state construction operations preferred.

Skills:

• Advanced proficiency with Deltek ComputerEase and HCSS HeavyJob required.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple entities, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving abilities.

Certifications:

• CPA license or Certified Construction Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation strongly preferred.

Knowledge:

• Construction accounting and financial management.
• WIP reporting and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• AIA billing and retainage management.
• GAAP and consolidated financial reporting.
• Multi-state construction regulations and tax compliance.
• Certified payroll, prevailing wage, and Davis-Bacon requirements.
• Banking, surety, credit, and bonding processes.
