Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown - Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Ability to use Rapid Response and Code teams - Competence in feeding tube care and management - Experience with Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) - Skills in peripheral line care and management - Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs - Knowledge of epidural analgesia and PCA - Experience with surgical drains and chest tubes - Understanding of isolation precautions and wound care Description: The position is for an RN in a PCU setting. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. First-time travelers are not accepted. The role includes a requirement for 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period. Patients include those who have undergone various surgical procedures such as bariatric surgery, urology cases, hepatobiliary procedures, colorectal procedures, and trauma cases. Post-operative pain control primarily involves epidural, PCA, ketamine, and/or lidocaine infusion. Many patients will have drains, including foley, JP, and chest tubes, and may frequently require wound vacs. Regular floating between departments may be required to meet facility needs. Candidates must also have a strong background in managing complex patient cases in a surgical intermediate setting. References from a supervisor and a charge nurse from the past year are required. Drug screening is a condition of employment, and results must not be diluted or positive. Lab tests must be completed within a specified timeframe of signing.
