Key Responsibilities

• We are looking for a full-time Abdominal Transplant Surgeon to enhance the growth and development of our kidney transplant program, including performing AV access surgeries.
• Advocate Christ Medical Center is an 802-bed Level I Trauma Center, recognized as a premier teaching facility and a major referral center for various specialties, including heart and kidney transplantation.
• The kidney transplant program currently conducts around 30-35 transplants each year, maintains a waitlist of approximately 220 patients, and oversees about 320 post-transplant outpatients.
• This role presents an exciting opportunity for a surgeon eager to expand outreach and contribute to program growth.
• You will collaborate with a supportive and experienced team dedicated to the success of the program.
• We provide excellent staff support and dedicated clinical space to ensure you can deliver exceptional patient care.
• Additional professional opportunities include involvement in investigator-initiated research and clinical trials through our research institute, as well as teaching roles with medical students and residents.
• The procedural scope encompasses kidney transplantation, organ procurement, AV access surgery, and hepatobiliary surgery, with opportunities for minimally invasive, robotic, and laparoscopic procedures. A da Vinci Xi robotic platform is available for use.
• Utilization of EPIC EMR for efficient patient management.
• Join a nationally recognized integrated organization with a physician-led medical group and embedded service line.
• Access DAX Copilot, an AI-driven clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, to streamline workflows by generating draft patient notes for quick review and signature.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
• Fellowship training in abdominal transplant surgery.
