Benjamin Franklin Charter School is looking for a Bus Driver for our 2026-2027 school year.

Reports to: Transportation Manager Location: BFCS- Queen Creek Position Type: Full-Time Length of Contract: 10 Months Rate of Pay: Starting at $22.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safety and conduct of passengers in accordance with State and Transportation Department regulations.
• Responsible for all safety procedures including (but not limited to) assisting students and staff as they enter and exit the vehicle.
• Ensures the bus is in good operating condition. Performs daily safety inspection of the bus; identifies and reports needed repairs and mechanical problems.
• Report student misbehavior appropriately to the transportation coordinator and document contact.
• Prepares disciplinary referrals as needed.
• Maintains current route sheets.
• Maintains clean bus (interior and exterior).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possession of or ability to receive within initial training process, current Arizona commercial driver's license and State Bus Driver's Department of Public Safety certification
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Will be required to pass a criminal background check upon hire
• Clear driving record for the past 5 years

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL with Passenger Endorsement for School Bus Driving

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Duties may include frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 25 pounds. Employees may be required to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally. This position will require the employee to have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
