We are seeking a Flexographic Printing Press Operator to provide multi-functional support to our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing quality parts while meeting production standards according to established procedures.

Functional Responsibilities

• Press Operation & Setup: Start presses and pull proofs to check for ink coverage, density, alignment, and registration. Secure printing plates to printing units, adjust tolerances, and change press plates, blankets, or cylinders as required.
• Quality Control: Examine job orders to determine quantities, stock specifications, colors, or special printing instructions. Collect and inspect random samples during print runs to identify and make necessary adjustments. Verify that paper and ink meet specifications.
• Material Management: Load presses with paper, adjust feed and tension controls according to paper size, and feed paper through press cylinders. Obtain or mix inks, fill ink fountains, and adjust fountain flow rates.
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Clean ink fountains, plates, or printing unit cylinders when press runs are completed. Clean or oil presses and perform minor repairs using hand tools.
• Technical Systems: Monitor automated press operation systems, respond to fault/error messages, and input job settings into workstation terminals. Download or scan files using printing production software and adjust digital files to alter print elements (fonts, graphics, color separations).
• Operations Support: Direct or monitor the work of press crews. Set up or operate auxiliary equipment such as cutting, folding, plate-making, drilling, or laminating machines. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary. Monitor environmental factors like humidity and temperature that may impact equipment performance. Maintain time and production records.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience: 4+ years of experience in operating a flexographic printing press is required.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to walk around frequently, stand on concrete surfaces, and lift or carry weight of approximately 30 pounds.
• Schedule: Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and work weekends. 7 am - 7 pm
• Education (Preferred): High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Preferred Experience: Previous experience with forklifts, aerial lifts, and general machine operation.
