Intervention Behavior Specialist (RTI-B) (School Year 2026-2027) Cartwright School District's motto is "One Team, Una Familia!" which reflects our dedication to treating each child as a cherished family member. Job Goal The Response to Intervention Behavioral Specialist organizes and implements the intervention program in an assigned building. Responsibilities include identification of students, implementation of RTI services, participation in parent conferences, providing RTI‑related staff development, and tracking student progress. Qualifications Current Arizona Teaching Certification or current Arizona Guidance Counselor Certification (K‑12). Experience preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of and works effectively in a professional learning community. Views self as a learner and seeks professional challenges and demonstrates initiative. Demonstrates ability in working with diverse populations (ELL, Special Education and Gifted). Demonstrates an understanding of the unique challenges facing Title I students and their families. Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth by participation in professional growth opportunities. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively under time constraints. Must be a team player and get along well with others. Must have excellent communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations. Demonstrates the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must have excellent memory and ability to function well under stress. Must demonstrate an extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information. Must demonstrate flexibility, common sense, and good judgment. Skill in operating a personal computer using a variety of software applications. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Performance Responsibilities Works cooperatively with building Principal, Instructional Coach, and/or Reading Specialist, and classroom teachers. Attends all trainings and intervention in‑services provided for RTI‑B’s during Friday and other appropriate times. Participates in MTSS meetings. Assists school personnel with the identification of students for intervention programs. Works cooperatively with classroom teachers to supply intervention to individual and small groups of children using intervention programs for behavior. Communicates with school personnel and parents of children receiving intervention services. Assists, where applicable, in the administration of screening, diagnostic, progress monitoring, and summative assessments. Maintains records on each child as a basis for social‑emotional support. Keeps complete records on each child receiving intervention to be shared at MTSS meetings. Monitors the progress of children who have completed intervention programs. Completes data forms as specified. Assists Instructional Coach and Principal in planning and implementing professional development related to RTI. Maintains regular attendance. Is able to read and interpret a variety of instructions and data furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Utilizes student testing and related data to identify student strengths and weaknesses. Targets physical demands: stooping, reaching, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
