Position Description

Summary/Objective:

Overall responsibility for the BIM model creation and information developed during construction.

Qualifications

2-year degree in CAD (Computer Aided Design). 2 or more years with Commercial Electrical projects, 1 or more years with BIM (Building Information Modeling), 1 or more years with 3d Modeling. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks Manage, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu.

Essential Functions

• Understand written instructions from designers and engineers to generate Electrical BIM Models.
• Review early designs for constructability analysis.
• Capable of auditing and reviewing 3D Models from different trades using Navisworks Manage.
• Conducts clash detection and visual walkthroughs
• Recognizes the necessity of adhering to deadlines.
• Holds weekly coordination meetings with project team members.
• Manage / Update BIM Project Documents & Models.
• 3D Model Quantity Extraction/ Verification.
• Be responsible for BIM file exchange and archiving of milestone submittals.
• Coordinates with the team to assure the creation of proper plan views, room layouts and BIM final deliverables directly from the coordinated model.
• Uses special notations and symbols to give instruction on drawings and blueprints.
• Revises drawings based on instruction form engineers or architects.
• Visits building sites to collect data for drawings.
• Consults with clients to understand their instructions and to answer their questions.
• Monitors compliance with building codes throughout the construction process.
• Reviews engineering data to ensure compliance with the original design plans.
• Modifies existing drawings.
• Stores drawings electronically and generate prints for later use.
• Perform other duties not specifically stated herein, which may be assigned periodically by your Supervisor?

This position has no supervision responsibilities .

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
