Job Description Job Title: SHIPPING AND RECEIVING Department/Area: PRODUCTION Reports To: INVENTORY MANAGER Position Summary: To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform essential job duties with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform a variety of duties including the physical and administrative task involved in receiving and shipping parts and materials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties and responsibilities are essential. Other duties may be assigned and/or applied: Receive and/or unpack delivered parts, materials and supplies Confirms that the delivered goods match packing slip and purchase order specifications Create Item Receipt in Accounting Software by electronically “receiving” goods Forward Paperwork to Customer Service Immediately report discrepancies, damaged or unsatisfactory items to appropriate parties Correspond with the Quality Control Department to advise of arrival of items that would be pending for Quality Inspection Prepare goods for final shipment according to Customer specification and the organization’s standards ensuring all items are packaged, properly tagged and protected prior to shipment Requisition and store shipping material to maintain inventory of supplies Accountability As a result of the job responsibilities, as stated in this job description, the employee will be held accountable for his/her job activities. Math Ability Basic mathematical computation ability (fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.). Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
