We do not accept 1099 independent consultants, staffing firms, or corp‑to‑corp candidates. Arcetyp LLC is looking for a Psychiatrist. This position is onsite and located in Yokosuka, Japan. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with clinical staff and/or base personnel regarding patient awareness of mental health wellness programs (addictions, stress management, group therapies). Provide patient consultations requested by Naval Hospital staff health care providers within guidelines established by the Naval Hospital. Deliver records and reports required to document procedures performed and care provided utilizing the Health Maintenance Strategies International Manual (HMSI) standards. Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed by government supervisor. Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command/Government Supervisor. Actively participate in the command’s Performance Improvement Program, review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist. Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions. Comply with the standards of The Joint Commission, applicable provisions of law, and the rules and regulations of any and all governmental authorities pertaining to licensure and regulation of health care personnel and medical treatment facilities, the regulations and standards of medical practice and the MTF’s medical staff bylaws. Provide training and/or direction as applicable to supporting government employees (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.). Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentra's, and Clinical Information System (CIS); participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander. Attend and participate in various meetings as directed by government supervisor. The HealthCare Worker (HCW) shall comply with the HIPAA privacy and security policies of the treatment facility. Providers shall obtain/maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) in accordance with DOD and MT policy/instruction, as applicable. Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care. Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required. Use abbreviations only those listed in local instructions. Provide On‑Call services as required, including returning phone calls within 15 minutes of notification. Provide Call‑Back services as required, including rendering services within one hour of notification. NECESSARY SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Adhere to and comply with the Department of the Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and local instructions and notices in effect during the term of the contract. Practice aseptic techniques as necessary; comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection. Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner. Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient and significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF. Maintain DoD email account as directed by government supervisor. Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities. Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, Department of Defense, Department of Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and MTF instructions and policies. Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with patients and other health care personnel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Have completed a residency training program in Psychiatry and neurology approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority. Possess and maintain Board Certification in Psychiatry. Have a minimum of 1‑year full‑time experience as a Psychiatrist within the last 3 years. HCW shall be in good standing, and under no restrictions, with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held or has been held within the last 10 years. HCW shall be in good standing and under no sanction or suspension by the Federal Government. Possess and maintain current certification in either the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course. Ability to pass all background/suitability checks. A valid driver’s license; ability to travel locally as needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A thorough understanding of the military lifestyle and experience working with military family members. Working knowledge of relevant military, state, federal, and local laws and resources. Highly developed written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
