Janitorial Staff

Job Description

Regular preventive building maintenance to keep all classrooms, hallways, restrooms and offices clean and sanitary on a continuing basis. To perform duties required in the daily operations and maintenance of institutional buildings and grounds.

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Move, set up, and install furniture to meet the needs of the College and related functions.
2. Assist in waste and refuse removal from campus.
3. Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish all tile and floors.
4. Dust, vacuum, sweep and mop offices and classrooms.
5. Clean and restock restrooms.
6. Clean windows and frame (especially upper level windows and frames).
7. Vacuum and clean carpets and walk-off mats.
8. Assist other employees within the department when needed.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Custodian, Forman, or Supervisor.
10. Participates in education and training courses, as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Ability to work and communicate with faculty, staff, students, and the general public
2. Understanding of the various aspects of cleaning
3. Experience in janitorial field
4. Valid North Carolina driver's license and good driving record
