Laboratory Technician – Fine Fragrances

Location: New York, NY 10022
Shift- 1st shift
Hourly pay: $25- $28 DOE
Full-Time, temp- hire

What You'll Do

• Prepare fragrance compounds in alcohol and other applications to support fragrance profiles and product development.

• Compound formulas for perfumers and application sample requests with exceptional precision.

• Prepare product samples for clients and internal departments, including Perfumery, Marketing, Evaluation, Sensory, and proactive development projects.

• Work directly with perfumers to maintain an efficient workflow while anticipating and prioritizing daily laboratory needs.

• Maintain an adequate inventory of raw materials required for product manufacturing and laboratory activities.

• Prepare reports and documentation that support the timely completion of fragrance profiles.

• Develop laboratory demonstrations and application samples for ancillary products.

• Maintain detailed, organized laboratory notebooks documenting sample preparation and laboratory activities.

• Follow all laboratory safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and execute all required quality processes.

• Remain accountable for responsibilities outlined within ISO 9001 process flows.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory workspace.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• College coursework in a scientific discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory experience.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.

• Bachelor of Science degree or related scientific field.

• Previous laboratory experience, preferably within the fragrance, flavor, cosmetic, chemical, or consumer products industry.

Work Environment

• Laboratory-based position with very mild noise levels.

• Collaborative team environment supporting fragrance research and development.

• Regular interaction with perfumers and cross-functional departments.

Physical Requirements

• Regular exposure to fragrance materials and laboratory chemicals.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Ability to stand, bend, sit, and perform repetitive laboratory tasks.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds as needed.
