Sheet Metal Forming Programmer-Operator, CNC Press Brake

Location: Indian Trail, NC

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay: $22–$28/hour DOE (Higher compensation may be considered for highly qualified candidates)

You’ll own the flow—from shearing raw stock to programming and forming on KAAST CNC press brakes—bringing expert knowledge of Delem/Delem 51T/Dellum controls to every run. Your ability to calibrate, troubleshoot, and optimize on the floor keeps production sharp, scrap low, and quality uncompromised. Along the way, you’ll strengthen our team by sharing know-how, refining standards, and elevating our forming processes.

Role Highlights

• Program, set up, and operate CNC press brakes (KAAST) for precise forming.
• Operate CNC shear equipment to cut materials to specification ahead of bending.
• Create and edit programs directly at the controller using Delem/Delem 51T/Dellum.
• Interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings; determine tooling, bend sequences, allowances, and machine settings.
• Enter key parameters—material type, thickness, dimensions, bend angles, leg sizes—and validate output.
• Troubleshoot quality and machine issues; adjust calibration, crowning, and deflection in real time.
• Perform first-piece inspections and final checks to meet spec and quality standards.
• Conduct basic preventive maintenance and daily equipment checks.
• Safely handle and move materials; guide large sheet components during fabrication.
• Partner with project managers, estimators, and production leaders to ensure accuracy and throughput.
• Help define best practices and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior operators; serve as the subject expert for Delem-controlled brakes.

What You BringRequired

• 3+ years programming, setup, and operation of CNC press brakes.
• Demonstrated experience programming at the control.
• Strong preference for Delem, Delem 51T, or Dellum controls experience.
• Hands-on with both CNC press brakes and shears.
• Tooling/bend calculation proficiency and solid fabrication process knowledge.
• Independent troubleshooting and machine adjustment skills.
• Understanding of calibration, crowning, and deflection compensation.
• Blueprint/fabrication drawing literacy; excellent math and measurement accuracy.
• Self-motivated, detail-focused, and quality-driven.

Preferred

• KAAST equipment exposure.
• Experience with aluminum, sheet metal, or architectural metals.
• CNC programming background beyond brakes.
• Lean/process improvement experience.
• Forklift experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Physical Requirements

• Stand for long periods; frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable in hot, cold, noisy, or dusty environments.
• Able to safely guide large sheet metal components.
