Your mission: Reliability that drives production

At Amsted Rail Petersburg, youll be a cornerstone of safe, efficient operationsbuilding reliability into every machine you touch. Youll install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production assets across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsand youll do it with craftsmanship and care.

Your Impact

• Prevent future downtime: Execute preventive and predictive maintenance, lubricate, and replace wear components before they fail.
• Restore performance: Diagnose problems using schematics and diagnostic tools; repair and reassemble complex equipment.
• Prove readiness: Calibrate machinery and run tests to confirm optimal performance before release to production.
• Record and replenish: Keep precise maintenance records in CMMS; monitor inventory and help coordinate parts and supplies.
• Champion safety: Practice OSHA and LOTO procedures and maintain an orderly, safe work environment.

What Youll Need

• Technical foundation: Mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical; competency reading blueprints and technical manuals.
• Tools mastery: Hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, diagnostic and predictive/reliability equipment.
• Systems-ready: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CMMS.
• Troubleshooters mindset: Critical thinking and spatial awareness to resolve complex issues quickly.
• Physical readiness: Ability to stand for long periods, work in varying temperatures, and lift 1050 lbs.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training, an associates degree, or certifications in industrial maintenance/millwrighting are preferred.
• 25 years experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or production environment.

Pre-Employment & Safety

• Wear required employer-provided PPE for the department.
• Regularly stand, walk, and move throughout the department during the shift.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
