Staff Software Engineer [Remote]

We're assisting an edtech startup with their search for a Staff Software Engineer. Their product is an AI-powered literacy/reading instruction platform for elementary educators. They are a remote company and open to candidates from anywhere in the United States.

What you'll be doing:

• 
  

  Building and iterating on the core product suite — prototyping, refining, and shipping new AI-powered literacy tools rapidly



• 
  

  Taking complex, cross-cutting features from prototype to production with thoughtful architecture and security decisions



• 
  

  Improving engineering systems and practices while maintaining a high-quality, easy-to-reason-about codebase at scale



• 
  

  Communicating proactively with the small remote team to ensure alignment and coherence as you ship features end-to-end

What you'll bring:

• 
  

  5+ years of experience as a senior SWE with full-​ stack experience



• 
  

  0-​ to-​1 building experience ; ​shipped end-​ to-​ end features and carried projects from idea to production readiness



• 
  

  Proficiency in TypeScript or Next. ​ js



• 
  

  Owned substantial parts of a codebase, ​ can handle large-​ scale projects without a detailed roadmap



• 
  

  High-​ agency; ​ can make meaningful progress without a detailed roadmap



• 
  

  Mission-​ driven; ​ passionate about improve literacy nationwide



• 
  

  Familiar with Vercel deployment and serverless architecture



• 
  

  Familiar with modern web frameworks
