Job Description
RN - Outpatient Cardiology & Interventional Radiology

Schedule

Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No nights, weekends, or on-call required.

Assignment Details

Generally 2 days in Cardiology, 3 days in Interventional Radiology.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum RN graduate; Preferred BSN.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (both through AHA or RQI).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in patient care with recent arrhythmia recognition and cardiology experience; preferred experience in ICU or Cardiology Nursing.
• Moderate sedation experience is required.
• Experience with treadmill and nuclear stress testing is required; experience with Meditech is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform treadmill, ETTs, and nuclear stress testing.
• Conduct initial patient interviews and make preliminary assessments of test data.
• Prepare studies for physician interpretation and work closely with medical staff to ensure accurate results.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, providing education to patients and their families.
• Assist with monitoring for special procedures, such as stress-echo studies and tilt table studies.
• Recognize emergency situations and respond according to policy and protocol.
• Identify and interpret arrhythmias and perform conscious sedation as needed.
