Emergency Room Nurse

What you will do:

• Provide top-tier emergency and med-surg care across all patient units, including the ER and Med-Surg.
• Collaborate with a flexible team of nurses and aides to share patient responsibilities efficiently.
• Utilize Cerner EMR system to document and manage patient information.
• Respond promptly to crisis situations with support from a dedicated crisis nurse on call.
• Maintain compliance with all certifications and safety protocols, including BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NRP (preferred).

Required skills:

• Proven experience in emergency and med-surg nursing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications; NRP highly preferred.
• Ability to assess, prioritize, and respond swiftly in critical situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; capable of sharing workloads effectively.
• Flexibility to work the 5 pm 5 am shift, including night hours.

Nice to have skills:

• Experience working in critical access or small hospital settings.
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR software.
• Additional certifications in trauma or specialized acute care.

Preferred education and experience:

• Valid RN license; previous experience in ER or critical care settings preferred.
• Previous work in small or rural healthcare environments is a plus.

Other requirements:

• Must have or obtain required certifications prior to start date.
• Ability to work in a small, versatile environment that includes all patient units.
• Willingness to wear a mask during flu season and follow safety protocols.
