Senior Multimodal AI Scientist - Computational Radiology

AstraZeneca seeks a senior AI scientist to develop computational biomarkers and predictive models from multimodal biomedical data, including radiology imaging and clinical information. The role supports oncology drug development within the Biomarker Sciences & Technologies group in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and validation of computational pipelines for multimodal biomarker and predictive model generation
• Develop machine learning approaches to identify patient subgroups, predict outcomes, and generate clinically actionable insights
• Design multimodal analytical frameworks integrating imaging, clinical, molecular, and other data sources for patient stratification
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences
• Collaborate with radiologists, imaging scientists, translational researchers, and oncologists across multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, machine learning, biomedical engineering, or related quantitative field
• 0–1 years industry experience with strong foundation in machine learning and statistical modeling
• Proficiency in Python and R with demonstrated software engineering best practices
• Experience building end-to-end machine learning pipelines from preprocessing through validation
• Track record of peer-reviewed publications in quality conferences and journals
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Desired: medical imaging, computational pathology, genomics, or biomedical data domain experience

Compensation: $124,713.60–$187,070.40 base annually
