Senior Accountant

Our client is hiring for a Senior Accountant in East Atlanta, GA. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a well established, mission driven nonprofit organization based in the Atlanta area. You would own the monthly, quarterly, and year end close process, prepare financial statements, and lead the comparison of actual results against budget for leadership. The role also covers fixed asset accounting, account reconciliations, audit support, and providing training and support to other accountants on the team. Responsibilities:

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year end close process, including journal entries and managerial financial statements
• Lead the comparison of actual expenditures against budget, and support ongoing budget and forecast activities
• Manage fixed assets, account reconciliations, and ad hoc analysis, resolving accounting discrepancies as they arise
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, and provide training and support to other accountants on the team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, with 5+ years of accounting experience
• Hands on experience with a large ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics or similar preferred
• Experience with grants is a major plus
• Working knowledge of fund accounting for a nonprofit organization and payroll accounting are a plus
• Advanced Excel skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
