Work Shift: Various (United States of America). Location: Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, 1514 Vernon Rd, Lagrange, GA 30240. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Communication: Must be able to communicate verbally in crisis situations with team members, patients, and family members to produce quality interaction. Teamwork: Work with EMT or Paramedic partner to form solutions to unique problems, respecting input and developing a common goal. Quality/Safety: Must adhere to safety policies and procedures and act safely at all times in less safe conditions such as accident scenes or businesses and homes. Job Knowledge: Acts within the appropriate guidelines and scope of practice for the Paramedic role. Does not operate outside scope without online medical direction from the ED physician. Financial Stewardship: Maintains accurate supply levels, does not use equipment for purposes other than intended, maintains vehicles in good working order, performs daily preventative maintenance checks. Problem Solving: Under pressure, must analyze problems to identify underlying issues and determine a course of action for care of patient. Performs other duties as assigned; complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: General or Accredited Program. Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS – American Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I – ACLS – Instructor BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I – Basic Life Support – Instructor PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support or ARC-PALS – American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I – PALS – Instructor PARA – Paramedic GADL – Georgia Driver’s License Required Minimum Experience Minimum 1 year as an Emergency Medical Technician. Preferred experience.
